What to expect:
Start your adventure staying at Alpine Nature Experience’s Eco-village and enjoy a delicious chef prepared meal, before tucking in for a comfortable night in their unique tree tents.
Get up the next day to the smell of fresh coffee, eggs and bacon. Hop on your bike and start the epic downhill ride to Omeo, a whopping 1400m drop over 55km of wide turns in amazing alpine scenery. After a quick coffee in Omeo, you’ll get back on the saddle for fast ride along the Cobungra river before leaving the Bingo Munjie grassland and making your way on the flat but windy road through the deep forest towards Angler’s rest. There, the iconic Blue Duck and its cold beers await.
The Blue Duck is at the junction of the Cobungra, the Bundara and the Mitta Mitta rivers, surrounded by one million acres of Alpine National Park. Licenced since 1912, the historic Blue Duck is renowned for its wholesome local food and wine served in the friendly atmosphere of a traditional country pub!
After a copious meal and an optional nap by the river, get picked up at the pub and transported back to Alpine Nature Experience’s eco-village to enjoy their renowned pizza night (Sat only) by the fire before falling asleep looking at the stars from the comfort of your tent.
This iconic ride has been designed with exclusivity in mind. Very limited weekends are available and group numbers are capped at 6 people to ensure a personalised and unforgettable experience.

Add-on options are available for a fully- catered experience, such as return transport from Melbourne and additional hikes or upgrade to our Premium Vista tent.
Fitness level and gear
A reasonable cycling fitness level is essential to ensure that you enjoy the ride. You will need to have a appropriate road bike, gravel bike or advanced commuter, as well as appropriate clothing and hydration.
City bikes or mountain bikes aren’t suitable for this ride.
Climb: 600m – Descent: 1550m
Riding experience and active lifestyle necessary.
Bikes can be locked up at night in a secured fully enclosed trailer.

Our eco-village is set up to be unique with one motto: Simplicity is a luxury.
There you will get to experience nature from above, levitating off the ground while watching the stars with your partner or a friend in our unique Tree Top Tent.
Most food is cooked on the fires with a focus on local fresh organic produce.
We also have limited power to recharge your phone, hot camp shower, a selection of soft drinks and local beers wines and spirits.
